intuitive cooking, sensible eating.

I am a quarter century old, and I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  I try to keep my life as simple as possible these days, but that can be challenging.  I try to honor my body, spirit, and experience my life fully as a human being by dancing, listening to music, laughing a whole lot, cooking everyday, running, bicycling, loving animals, telling the truth, being a positive influence on my lover, and appreciating the sunshine I have in my life everyday.

I believe in embracing my strengths to be a positive influence on the people around me by putting in 110% to maintain a positive attitude, by harnessing the optimism that comes from sharing food, love, experiences, and movement.  I am a sum of all my parts: my organs, actions, thoughts, past, present, and the choices I make to shape my future.

In the past 2 years I moved from my hometown to Chicago and then to Washington D.C., I am here to help shape not only my future, but what I feel I can have a positive affect on in the larger world.  I think it is interesting because many people come here to D.C. in order to do that very thing, but what I want to do is cook for and with people.  As I pursue this blog and my interest in becoming a personal chef, I will share that process with whoever would like to read it.

Thanks for your interest in what I do with myself; I know the internet is a busy place for busy people, and I am glad you found your way here!
